Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Melva Henderson to the Rehabilitation Council of Texas. Her term will expire on October 29, 2027. The Council collaborates with the Texas Workforce Commission to support individuals with disabilities in the vocational rehabilitation process.

Melva Henderson, based in Dallas, is the founder and CEO of Living Beyond Limits, a nonprofit organization. She brings over a decade of experience working with the blind and visually impaired community. As a vision life coach, she assists others in creating plans to live beyond limits and organizes events to raise awareness for this underserved community. Henderson holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Social Work from East Texas A&M University. She also has a certificate in business management from George Mason University.
