Governor Greg Abbott has appointed four individuals to the Texas Physician Assistant Board, with terms concluding on February 1, 2031. This Board is responsible for accrediting physician assistants to practice within Texas.

Lyle Grimes, hailing from Cedar Park, serves as a global account manager for Choice Hotel International. Grimes has an active role in numerous organizations, acting as the treasurer for Austin’s Global Business Travel Association, holding a vice presidency at the Leander FFA Booster Club, and having previous directing positions at several institutions such as the Williamson County Conservation Foundation. He studied Government at The University of Texas at Austin.

Chad Moody, based in Hemphill, works as a physician assistant for Preferred Hospital Leasing. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Physician Associates, and he has previously been a trustee for the Hemphill Independent School District. Moody holds a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin University and a Master of Science from Baylor College of Medicine.

Rao Ali, M.D., from Southlake, pioneered the Premier Pain Centers. He brings double board-certification in pain medicine and leadership in various medical affiliations such as the Texas Pain Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Ali completed his medical training and fellowships at prestigious institutions, including Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

Sandra Longoria, D.M.Sc., from Harlingen, specializes in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Care as a physician assistant. Her background includes memberships in significant physician assistant organizations and volunteer work with the American Red Cross. Longoria’s education spans multiple institutions, including UT Rio Grande Valley and the University of Lynchburg, where she completed her Doctor of Medical Science.

The appointments will now proceed to the Senate for confirmation.
