Governor Greg Abbott has made key appointments to the Jefferson and Orange Counties Board of Pilot Commissioners. The board, which oversees pilot services in the counties, has gained two new members and seen the reappointment of three others. Brandy Bergeron, M.D., and Amy Townsend, M.D., are the newly appointed members, while Shawn Sparrow, Craig Sherlock, and Charles “Charlie” Holder have been reappointed.
Dr. Brandy Bergeron brings her expertise as an anesthesiologist and medical director at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth. She is also an active member of various medical societies and holds academic credentials from Texas A&M University and The University of Texas Medical School.
Dr. Amy Townsend, based in Orange, owns Magnolia Direct Primary Care and holds leadership roles in several medical and community organizations. Her medical degree is from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, complemented by a family medicine degree from Louisiana State University.
Shawn Sparrow continues his role on the board. He serves as the vice president of The Houseman Companies and holds a directorial position at First State Bank of Texas.
Craig Sherlock, serving as vice president of J.S. Edwards & Sherlock Insurance Agency, takes on another term. Sherlock has a background in insurance and community service, supported by his educational achievements from Spring Hill College and Loyola Law School.
Charles “Charlie” Holder remains on the board, leveraging his experience owning Home Instead Senior Care and Advantage Drug Testing. His educational journey includes studies at Lamar University and an Executive MBA from MIT.
These appointments, aimed at guiding navigational services in the region, are pending confirmation by the Senate.
