Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Kerry Reyna and reappointed Amanda Nobles and April Graham to Humanities Texas, with terms ending on December 31, 2026. Humanities Texas is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, supporting public programs in various humanities disciplines across Texas.
April Graham from Bryan is a retired high school teacher. She is involved with the Spring Branch Parent Teacher Association and St. Cecilia Catholic Church as a former minister and Christian education teacher. Graham holds degrees in psychology from Texas Tech University and secondary education from the University of Houston.
Amanda Nobles of Longview has retired after three decades as executive director of Kilgore Economic Development Corporation. She is affiliated with several economic development councils and has been active in historical preservation and cultural organizations in Kilgore. Nobles graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Texas at Austin, completed further studies at the University of Oklahoma, and received certifications in economic development.
Lt. Col. Kerry Reyna from San Antonio retired from the United States Army after 27 years at Fort Sam Houston. Reyna earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Sam Houston State University, a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Houston, and a Master’s degree in Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word.
