Governor Greg Abbott has appointed John Asel as the presiding officer of the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (RMA). This term will expire on February 1, 2026. The RMA is a political subdivision that collaborates with state authorities to enhance transportation infrastructure projects in Bexar County.

John Asel, a resident of Helotes, serves as chairman and managing member of Asel & Associates, PLLC. This firm operates as a full-service licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) company based in San Antonio. Asel holds a CPA license and brings over 30 years of experience in Texas. He is affiliated with both the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University.

The appointment awaits confirmation by the Senate.
