Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Stefan Hussenoeder, Ph.D., to the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee. The appointment is set to last until the governor decides otherwise. This committee provides guidance to the Bureau of Economic Geology regarding funding utilization, including oversight of the TexNet Seismic Monitoring Program and fostering research collaborations with Texas universities. Additionally, it aids in preparing a status report for both the Governor and Legislature.

Stefan Hussenoeder hails from Sugar Land and has been with ExxonMobil since 1998. At ExxonMobil, he serves as an injection and seismicity advisor within their Upstream organization. He holds leadership roles as the Permitting Sub-Committee chair for the Texas Seismicity and Water Partnership (TX SWP) and as chair of the Deep Disposal and Seismic Workgroup for the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association (NMOGA). His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from Saint Louis University and a Doctorate in Oceanography (Marine Geophysics) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
