Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Aundrea Young to the Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services. Her term will conclude on January 1, 2026. The council’s role is to propose improvements to the EMS/Trauma System, aiming for comprehensive and efficient emergency care in communities.

Aundrea Young, based in Houston, is the founder and president of Competitive Choice, Inc. She participates actively in various organizations. She serves on the Executive Women’s Partnership Steering Committee for the Greater Houston Partnership and is a board member of the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region. Additionally, she supports the United Way Alexis de Tocqueville Society as a sponsor.

Young is also affiliated with several leadership groups including the American Leadership Forum (ALF) and Leadership Texas. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Texas Southern University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. She furthered her education at Harvard Business School through its Owner/President Management Program and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Critical Infrastructure at Capitol Technology University.
