Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Alan Herrington to the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority Board of Directors. Herrington’s term will continue until February 1, 2029. This board is tasked with developing and preserving the water resources in the Upper Neches River basin and its tributaries, which are situated across Anderson, Cherokee, Smith, and Henderson Counties.

Alan Herrington hails from Palestine and has retired after a lengthy career spanning thirty-four years in the financial industry. In his professional capacity, he served as a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and was a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration in Actuarial Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Actuarial Science from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

The appointment of Herrington to the board requires confirmation by the Senate.
