Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Bastrop on June 26, 2025. The summit series is held throughout the year across Texas to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing them with essential resources and information.

“Small businesses are the cornerstone of our vibrant communities and the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” stated Governor Abbott. He highlighted that Texas hosts over 3.3 million small businesses employing nearly half of all working Texans, which contributes significantly to job creation and business expansion in the state.

The upcoming event in Bastrop aims to connect local, state, and federal resource partners with participants to offer insights on important business topics. Attendees will have opportunities to network with other business owners and learn from experts who will provide practical advice on various subjects related to small businesses.

The summit is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center located at 1408 Chestnut St., Bastrop, TX 78602. Sessions will cover topics such as scaling or selling a business, leveraging state and local programs for growth, and utilizing technology effectively in small businesses. Clint Howard, an artist and owner of Pyrology Foundry & Studio, will deliver the keynote address.

Registration for the event costs $20, including access to sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. More information can be found at gov.texas.gov/events.

Future summits are also planned for various locations including Rockport-Fulton on July 10; Waxahachie on July 24; Pharr on August 7; Big Lake on August 21; Eagle Pass on September 11; Carthage on September 25; Dalhart on October 9; Denton focusing on women entrepreneurs on October 23; and Belton focusing on veterans on November 13.
