Governor Greg Abbott has announced a special election for the Texas Senate District 9 seat. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025. This follows the recent vacancy left by Kelly Hancock.
Prospective candidates aiming to be on the ballot must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Early voting is set to commence on Monday, October 20, 2025.
