Governor Greg Abbott announced that the next 2025 Governor’s Small Business Summit will be held in Orange on April 24. The summits are organized throughout the year across various regions in Texas to support small business owners and entrepreneurs by offering necessary resources and information.

According to Governor Abbott, “Small businesses are the cornerstone of our vibrant communities and the driving force behind Texas’ booming economy.” He highlighted that Texas has over 3.3 million small businesses, which employ nearly half of the state’s workforce. “I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas than ever before,” he added.

The summit in Orange aims to gather local, state, and federal partners to discuss critical business matters. Participants will have the chance to network with other business owners and meet experts who will provide relevant and practical advice on various business topics.

The session topics will include “Building a Business: A Business Owner’s Perspective,” “Access to Financing: Funding a Growing Business,” and “What’s Hot? Marketing & Communication Tools for Small Business.” The keynote speech, “Develop a ‘No Options’ Mindset,” will be delivered by Ty Gipson from The Gipson Group/Waterboy Graphics.

The summit will take place at the Shahan Events Center, 209 Green Ave, Orange, TX, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on April 24, 2025. The registration fee is $20, covering access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Further details and registration can be found at gov.texas.gov/events.

In addition to Orange, the Governor’s Small Business Summits will be hosted in various locations throughout 2025, including Denison, Sugar Land, and Hays County, each addressing relevant regional needs.

For those unable to attend in person, the Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance offer webinars. On-demand recordings of past webinars are available online at gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
