Governor Greg Abbott has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Benjamin Hanil Song. Song is wanted in connection with an attack on July 4, 2025, at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas. During this incident, an Alvarado police officer was injured. The Texas Department of Public Safety has placed Song on their 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List.
“The targeted attacks against our federal law enforcement officers is a crime and must end,” stated Governor Abbott. “Criminals such as Benjamin Hanil Song will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Warrants have been issued for Song’s arrest in Johnson County for aiding terrorism, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant, and engaging in organized crime. A federal arrest warrant has also been issued for him in Fort Worth, Texas.
Benjamin Hanil Song is described as an Asian male, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering an additional reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to his capture, bringing the total reward amount to $35,000.
Information can be provided by calling the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), submitting a web tip through the Texas 10 Most Wanted website or submitting a tip online. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity by law.
Texans are advised not to attempt apprehending fugitives themselves due to safety concerns.
