Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Pharr on August 7, 2025. The event is part of a series held throughout Texas to provide small business owners and entrepreneurs with access to resources and information aimed at helping them start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.

“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.3 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas.”

The summit in Pharr will bring together resource partners from local, state, and federal levels to discuss important topics for small businesses. Attendees will have opportunities to network with other business owners and hear from experts who will offer advice on a range of subjects relevant to running a small business.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, August 7 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Jose “Pepe” Salinas Memorial Recreation Center in Pharr. Sessions will include panel discussions such as “Stronger Together: Driving Success Through Collaboration,” “Building Your Dream: A Conversation with Entrepreneurs,” and “Strategies for Growth: Leveraging State & Local Programs.” Sasha Levine, Executive Vice President of Levcor, will deliver the keynote address. Alberto Treviño, Commissioner Representing Labor at the Texas Workforce Commission, is also scheduled to speak.

Registration costs $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. More details about registration can be found at https://gov.texas.gov/events.

Additional summits are planned for other cities later in the year including Big Lake (August 21), Eagle Pass (September 11), Carthage (September 25), Dalhart (October 9), Denton (October 23; women-focused), and Belton (November 13; veteran-focused).

The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office along with the Office of Small Business Assistance also offer online webinars designed for small businesses and entrepreneurs across Texas. Recordings of past webinars are available at https://gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
