Texas women’s golf junior Farah O’Keefe was named the 2026 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Year, according to a May 1 announcement by the conference. The award follows a vote by head coaches across the league and also recognizes teammates Cindy Hsu and Lauren Kim, who were selected for First Team All-SEC honors.
O’Keefe’s recognition marks her second conference Player of the Year award after previously earning Big 12 Player of the Year as a freshman in 2024. Currently ranked No. 4 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, she has achieved three tournament victories this season and placed in the top ten at all ten college tournaments she played. O’Keefe has finished among the top three in each of her last four collegiate events.
Her accomplishments extend beyond collegiate play; O’Keefe contributed to Team USA’s win at the World Amateur Team Championship in October and recently participated for a third time in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Last week, she was recognized as low amateur at an LPGA major championship, finishing tied for sixth after three rounds and ending up tied for second at this year’s SEC Championship.
Lauren Kim is currently ranked No. 15 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings list and secured top-ten finishes in three out of her last four events, including twelfth place at this year’s SEC Championship. She was runner-up at both Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate and seventh at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, contributing to a team title win for Texas. Kim also competed recently in Augusta National Women’s Amateur and represented Canada internationally last year.
Cindy Hsu holds a No. 27 ranking on the World Amateur Golf Rankings list with an eleventh-place finish at this year’s SEC Championship. Hsu claimed her first collegiate victory during fall competition with a score of ten-under par at Nanea Invitational and posted two additional top-five finishes during this season.
The Longhorns are scheduled to compete from May 11 through May 13 in NCAA Regional Championships held in Chapel Hill.
