U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas has announced his new committee assignments for the upcoming 119th Congress. Cornyn will be joining the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations and Budget Committees, in addition to maintaining his positions on three other committees.

Cornyn expressed his intentions with these new roles: “For the past four years, the Biden-Harris administration has diminished America’s standing on the world’s stage and spent hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars on partisan spending sprees. I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues and President Trump to restore respect for America across the globe and tackle our growing national debt, and I am honored to be a voice for Texans in these new roles.”

The senator will continue serving on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senate Finance Committee, and Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. The 119th Congress is scheduled to commence on January 3, 2025.
