Rep. Chip Roy Press Office has been active on social media, sharing updates and opinions on legislative matters and public safety. Chip Roy, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district since 2019, replaced Lamar Smith. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972, Roy now resides in Austin and holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Texas-Austin.

On May 8, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy Press Office announced that “The House has PASSED @RepMTG’s Gulf of America Act”. This act aims to codify President Trump’s executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Later that day, another post emphasized law enforcement’s role in community safety: “Proactive policing keeps communities SAFER from murder and other violent crime.” The message concluded with a call to allow police officers to perform their duties effectively.

Additionally, Rep. Roy expressed support for new legislation targeting illegal immigration. He shared his pride in cosponsoring @RepKnott’s Punishing Illegal Immigrant Felons Act. In his statement, he criticized the Biden administration’s handling of illegal re-entries into the United States by deported individuals who have committed crimes.
