Rep. Chip Roy, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets expressing his views on various policy issues. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and currently residing in Austin, Roy graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in 1994 and later earned a JD from the University of Texas-Austin in 2003.
On May 15, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy’s press office tweeted about worksite enforcement. The tweet stated that “Worksite enforcement not only catches illegal workers but ALSO criminal illegal aliens working these same jobs.” The post emphasized that both economic or criminal aliens broke laws and should be deported.
Later that day, another tweet highlighted concerns regarding Medicaid funding distribution by stating “The federal government is currently giving states 7 TIMES MORE for the able-bodied, working age adult than for kids, pregnant women and the disabled.” Rep. Roy called for Medicaid reform to protect vulnerable groups.
In another tweet posted shortly after, Rep. Roy expressed criticism towards financial practices in certain states: “We should kill all the scams the blue states are using to launder federal money to all of their ridiculous programs.” He urged Republicans to support the president more actively and voiced his inability to support an unspecified bill as it stood at that time.
