University of Texas Men’s Basketball signee Bo Ogden has been invited to participate in the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team training camp, according to a May 8 announcement from USA Basketball. The camp will begin on Thursday, May 21, and the final roster of 12 athletes is expected to be announced before the team departs for the FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup in Leon, Mexico, scheduled for June 1-7.
The invitation highlights Ogden’s achievements and potential as he joins a group of 35 athletes representing the graduating classes of 2026, 2027, and 2028. Participants were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee.
Ogden brings prior experience with USA Basketball; he previously won a gold medal with the USA 3×3 Men’s U18 National Team at the FIBA U18 World Cup in Hungary in August 2024. During his senior season at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, Ogden averaged 22 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting efficiently from both three-point range and free throw line. He was named Mr. Basketball in Texas by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC), earned all-state honors, was recognized as District Most Valuable Player, and made Academic All-State.
As a junior at St. Michael’s Preparatory School in Austin, Ogden led his team to a state championship by hitting a game-winning shot at the buzzer and received TAPPS Class 6A all-state honors along with being named All-Austin Metro Mr. Basketball by Austin Sports Journal.
USA Basketball will compete against Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico during Group A play at this year’s AmeriCup event. The Americans have strong historical records against these teams: they are currently undefeated against Mexico (5-0) and Brazil (11-0), while holding a dominant record over Argentina (14-1). Quarterfinals begin June 5 with semifinals on June 6 and medal games set for June 7.
USA Basketball has claimed gold medals in eleven out of thirteen editions of this tournament—including seven consecutive titles since 2010—and will compete alongside Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela for one of four berths to next year’s FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup.
