The University of Texas announced on May 24 that Austin has been chosen as one of 16 regional host sites for the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. This marks the 39th time in program history that Texas will serve as a regional host.
The selection follows Texas’ second consecutive 40-win regular season, with the team holding a record of 40-13. The Longhorns will make their 65th postseason appearance when play at the Austin Regional begins Friday, May 29, at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Texas has compiled an all-time record of 153-60-1 in Regional contests and holds a home record of 110-33-1 in such games played in Austin. The university is one of seven Southeastern Conference schools to host this round, alongside Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State and Texas A&M.
The full field of teams participating in the Austin Regional and across all sites will be announced Monday at 11 a.m. on ESPN2. All session tickets are set to go on sale to Longhorn Foundation donors at the Icon level and above beginning Monday afternoon. If available, single session tickets will be offered to the general public starting Tuesday morning.
This announcement continues Texas’ long-standing tradition as a prominent participant and host within college baseball’s postseason structure.
