Megan Drake has been appointed president of Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle, Texas, which also includes Ascension Seton Bastrop, according to an April 15 announcement. Drake brings experience in healthcare administration and a background in operational leadership.

Her appointment is seen as significant for the hospital and the communities it serves, as she has a history of overseeing strategic growth initiatives and supporting high-quality patient care.

Drake previously worked for seven years as Chief Operating Officer at St. David’s HealthCare, most recently at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. Before her time in Austin, she was COO at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. There she managed administrative and financial operations for various hospital services and led capital projects such as expanding surgical suites with a hybrid operating room and building an electrophysiology lab to enhance cardiovascular care.

Drake’s experience also includes serving as Western Region Chief Business Development Officer for Prospect Medical Holdings—an organization that owns 20 acute care and behavioral health hospitals across six states—and Market Chief Strategy Officer for Valley Baptist Health System in Harlingen and Brownsville. She has held additional leadership roles at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, Lake Granbury Medical Center, and Northwest Medical Center.

“We are thrilled to welcome Megan to Ascension Seton Hays and look forward to the vision and leadership she will bring to our hospital and the communities we serve,” said Jamie Youssef, Chief Executive Officer for Ascension Texas.

Drake holds a master’s degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston along with a bachelor’s degree in biology from The College of Charleston. She is also an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
