Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Michelle Mangum-Merendino as Judge of the 75th Judicial District Court in Liberty County. Her term will last until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Mangum-Merendino is currently an attorney in private practice. She serves as president of the Liberty County Bar Association and is a member of several professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar College, and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. She has previously been involved with the American Bar Association and the Harris County Bar Association.

In addition to her legal work, Mangum-Merendino is active in her community. She sits on the Liberty Police Department Advisory Board and is affiliated with both the Texas Family Law Foundation and Faith Family Church. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Houston–Clear Lake and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston.
