Texas Governor Greg Abbott, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Texas National Guard, continues to make significant strides in securing the border and combating criminal activity. Since the commencement of Operation Lone Star, a joint initiative, there have been more than 504,900 illegal immigrant apprehensions and over 40,600 criminal arrests, with over 36,300 felony charges. Additionally, Texas law enforcement has seized a staggering 469 million lethal doses of fentanyl during this mission.

As part of the operation, Texas has transported a substantial number of migrants to various sanctuary cities across the country. Governor Abbott highlighted the success of this endeavor on social media, stating, "Texas Has Transported Over 105,000 Migrants To Sanctuary Cities."

Furthermore, Governor Abbott shared updates on the progress of border wall construction in Maverick County and the expansion of efforts by the Texas National Guard to deter illegal entry. These actions are part of the state's ongoing commitment to enhancing border security and safeguarding communities.

Recent incidents showcased the relentless efforts of law enforcement in tackling criminal activities along the border. The DPS successfully stopped a human smuggler in Hidalgo County after a high-speed pursuit, leading to the apprehension of the driver and referral of six illegal immigrants to Border Patrol.

In another operation, DPS special agents rescued 14 individuals being smuggled inside a semi-trailer in Webb County. The driver, arrested for smuggling of persons, and the 14 illegal immigrants were handed over to Border Patrol for further processing.

Moreover, DPS troopers arrested a confirmed member of the Northeast Cartel for criminal trespass and smuggling of persons on a private ranch in Webb County. This arrest demonstrates the state's commitment to dismantling criminal networks operating along the border.

In a remarkable show of solidarity, Operation Lone Star gained support from a multi-state coalition, with several states offering assistance in border security operations. The coalition's collaboration aims to strengthen Texas' efforts in addressing the border crisis caused by President Biden's policies.

Operation Lone Star continues to be a crucial initiative in filling the gaps left by the federal government's border security measures. Through coordinated efforts and strategic actions, Texas remains steadfast in its mission to protect its residents and uphold the rule of law.
